Merrythought Abraham Darby Teddy Bear, circa 1990

£48.00

Made to celebrate the life of Abraham Darby (1751-1790), a Quaker, whose iron works in Ironbridge were instrumental in bringing prosperity to Merrythought’s home town in the 18th century. Virtually as new, this classic bear is made of distressed blond mohair with brown and black safety eyes and felt paw pads, one foot embroidered in Darby’s memory. He wears a traditional Quaker jacket and tie. Number 43 of the small edition, he is in excellent condition with certificate.
