Made for Teddy Bears of Witney in 1997, this is one of our favourite-ever large Steiff bears. Made of rich and curly, dark gold mohair with large black button eyes and felt paw pads, he has the classic features of Steiff’s earliest bears, including a long muzzle, back hump, long arms with angled wrists and tapered ankles with long feet. He wears a Henderson tartan bow tie. Number 97 of the edition, he comes with neither box nor certificate but is a fine example (with a growler) in excellent condition.
