Made of distressed, caramel mohair, this non-jointed, sleeping baby Zotty has stitched eyes and back paw pads with airbrushed paw detail. ‘Zotty’ is short for zottelig (shaggy in German). Zotty bears were very popular in Germany and the US from the 1950s to the 70s. Never with button but in mint condition with chest tag, original ribbon and hand-written Steiff archive label dated 1970 (see photo).
