As with all Maillot bears, the quality of workmanship in Alfred is outstanding. Large and gentle-looking, he is made of sparse, wavy and distressed, rich gold mohair with a centre seam head, deeply set black glass eyes, a waxed thread nose and felt paw pads, with hand-painted shading detail. Heavily filled with a mixture of wood shavings and mineral granules, Alfred wears an elegant, lined, short-waisted, cotton jacket.
