Merrythought's Punkinhead was originally designed in 1949 by the company's inaugural designer, Florence Attwood. Now known simply as ‘Punkie’, he features a distinctive long mohair top-knot and a beaming smile.
Initially produced exclusively for Eaton’s Department Stores in Canada, Punkinhead became synonymous with their Christmas festivities, and appeared in a variety of books and marketing campaigns.
Made from dark chocolate mohair, this Punkinhead has an old gold mohair chest and inner ears, a white mohair topknot, distinctive black and white safety eyes, a velveteen muzzle and peach-coloured wool felt paws. He wears a pair of red wool felt shorts.
Merrythought’s Heritage Collection Punkinhead is individually numbered and comes with a pure cotton dust bag and a Certificate of Authenticity.
Punkinhead #41 (in 6 of the photos) is available.
