This early, traditional Merrythought bear is made of once-gold, long pile distressed mohair with amber and black glass eyes. The original pre-faded, gold colour of the mohair can be seen on his back in the final photo. His hand pads have both been re-covered – one with beige felt and the other with brown felt. His feet are both original brown felt but the left one is worn and the right one has a darned patch – see photos. His head is filled with wood shavings. Otherwise, we believe, he is filled with kapok. He has his original Merrythought label on his right foot pad.
