This small bear is a replica of one, formerly on display at the Ribchester Museum of Childhood, and which originally belonged to Gaspare Luigi Gatti, the restaurant manager on the ill-fated ship, who did not survive. Like the original Bing bear, this replica is fully jointed and made of short pile, gold mohair. He has black button eyes and wears a White Star label. He comes, decoratively boxed, with a Merrythought passport. He is numbered 240 on the label sewn into his back seam. In excellent condition.
