Made by the late Kathy Wallace, one of our favourite-ever makers of large classic bears, this magnificent example is a real show-stopper. Made of wavy and distressed, brown mohair, Chester has large black glass eyes and felt paw pads. Turn him backwards and he growls. Like many of their bears, he wears a leather collar decorated with brass bells, made by Amish people, near where Kathy and Jim lived in Pennsylvania. The certificate is age-worn (see photos). However, this bear, number 1 of the edition, is in excellent condition and is the actual bear photographed in our 2005 catalogue.
