This large and imposing bear was inspired by the mourning bears made by Steiff for the English market after the sinking of The Titanic in 1912. He is made of long and shaggy, black mohair with black-lacquered wooden eyes (with red felt discs behind). Traditionally filled with wood shavings, he growls when tipped backwards. This bear (number 34 of the edition) has a patinated steel button (as used in 1912) and a crisp, white ear tag. He is in wonderful, fresh condition with box and certificate. (If sold to a non-UK, there will be a GBP125 surcharge towards the airmail cost.)
