This medium to large-sized bear was made to recognize 150 years since the birth of Margarete Steiff. The design is inspired by a painting (shown on the certificate) of Margarete holding a white teddy bear. Fully jointed and traditionally filled with wood shavings, he is made of dense and lightly distressed, off-white mohair with brown and black safety eyes and felt paw pads. He wears a ceramic Steiff Club pendant (see photo). His right foot is signed by Jorg Junginger, then head of Steiff’s Design Department and great-grand-nephew of Margarete Steiff. Number 1994 of the edition, the bear is as new with certificate on wrist. (There never was a box with this bear.)
