Steiff Zotty Bear, circa 1960s

£25.00

Made of distressed, pale caramel mohair, this small and iconic baby bear has brown and black glass eyes, an open felt mouth and felt paw pads. Traditionally filled with wood shavings, he has no button and his squeaker no longer works. However, he is in good condition with a nice face. (If sent to a buyer outside the UK, there will be a GBP30 surcharge towards the airmail cost.) ‘Zotty’ is short for zottelig (shaggy in German). Zotty bear cubs, with their open smiling mouths and back-facing hands, were very popular in Germany and the US in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
