Edith by Joan Easton, New Zealand, made in 2010

£145.00

This creation is a sentimental reminder of the evacuation of children from big cities after the outbreak of war in 1939.

Edith is a small, fully jointed classic bear made of silky and distressed, creamy beige viscose with black glass eyes and felt paw pads. She wears a tweed overcoat and has a ribbon bow by one ear. Around her neck, she has a box (for her gas mask). She comes with her own 3 inch, fully jointed, blond viscose teddy and her suitcase. They all come presented in a larger suitcase, on the inside of the lid is a photograph of actual evacuees.  Firmly pellet filled, he wears a lined tweed overcoat. Number 2 of the edition, the set is as new with certificate.
