Xenia is named after Princess Xenia, who treasured Alfonzo all her life. This bear is inspired by an original, circa 1912-1915 bear in the museum at Witney. She is white because the princess was a 'White Russian'. The mohair of the original bear has aged over the years and Schulte, Germany's premier mohair manufacturer, have carefully replicated the 'warm white', which the old bear has become.
Also like the old bear,the replica has softly stuffed arms and is loosely jointed adding to her femininity. Xenia comes with a silk ribbon and a framed portrait brooch of Alfonzo. She is traditionally filled with wood shavings. With growler.
